Day 28 · Your First 30 Days

Telling Your Story

Awaken

You've told at least one person you started this study back on Day 1. Today's about telling someone the actual story — what's different now, in your own words.

Behold

Passage: 1 Peter 3:15

  • What does Peter say to always be ready to do?
  • What two qualities does he say to do it with?

Peter is writing to believers facing real hostility and suspicion for their faith — this instruction was given in a genuinely difficult social context, not a comfortable one.

Internalize

1. "Always be prepared" — not for confrontation, but for a question. Peter's scenario is someone asking — curiosity, not attack. Preparation here means having a simple, honest answer ready, not a rehearsed argument or a defensive posture.

2. "With gentleness and respect" — the tone matters as much as the content. Whatever your story is, Peter frames how you tell it as being just as important as what you say. You don't need a dramatic testimony to have something real to share — an honest account of what's changed in 28 days is enough.

A simple structure, if it helps: what your life or perspective was like before, what happened (this study, a specific moment, whatever's true for you), and what's different now. Three sentences is enough to start.

Do

Today's one small act: Write your three-sentence story (before / what happened / now). Then tell it, out loud, to one person this week.

Entrust

Gospel Appeal: Notice if you've been waiting for a more dramatic, polished testimony before you'll consider your story worth telling — quietly assuming 28 ordinary days doesn't count next to someone else's more dramatic one. No amount of comparing your story to a more dramatic version changes what Peter actually asks for here — a ready, honest answer, not an impressive one. Jesus is your great High Priest right now, and he's the one who actually changed something in you these 28 days — your story doesn't need more drama to be real, it just needs to be told. If you've been holding back because your story feels too ordinary, today can be the day you tell it anyway. And if you've already told it once, closing out Week 4, tell it again to someone new — it doesn't wear out with repetition.

Add 1 Peter 3:15 to your memorization deck.

Pray: "God, give me the words and the courage to tell my story honestly, with gentleness, not pressure or perfection. In the name of Jesus, amen."

Tomorrow: With one day left, you'll look at how to make everything from this month last — building a rhythm that survives after the study ends.
